CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS
The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is an immigration program that allows individuals who have worked in Canada for at least one year to immigrate permanently.
The CEC program is a pass‐fail system. What that means is that there is no point threshold an applicant has to meet. You simply meet the minimum requirements and you are eligible for this program. However, under the Express Entry system, applicants are ranked against each other and only the candidates with the best qualifications will be selected.
In other words, even if you are eligible for this program, you still have to compete with other prospective newcomers to get your visa. Because of this, it is always in your best interest to make sure your profile is as attractive as possible, to maximize the likelihood that you are invited to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence.
Mandatory Minimum Requirements of the CEC Program
- One year of full time, or equivalent part time, skilled employment in Canada, on a valid work permit
- The Canadian work experience must have been obtained in the last 3 years preceding the date you submitted the initial application
- Basic to moderate language proficiency in English OR French, depending on the skill level of your position in Canada
|Skill level||Minimum level for all four language abilities|
|Skill 0 or A||CLB 7|
|Skill B||CLB 5|
